Daniel Garbade, born in Zurich in 1957, is a visual artist known for his contributions as a photographer, painter, draftsman, and sculptor. His artistic journey began in the world of advertising and feature films, where he served as an Art Director and Production Manager. During this phase, he collaborated with renowned directors such as Fred Zinnemann and Yves Boisset, gaining valuable experience in the film industry. Garbade's talent extends beyond the realm of cinema, and he has been recognized for his artistic prowess by the Dadaists of the Voltaire Cabaret in Zurich. Notably, he was chosen to create the sculpture for the plaque on Michail Bakunin's tomb in Bern. Residing in Spain, Garbade has achieved international acclaim with exhibitions in prominent art fairs and galleries across the globe. His works have been showcased in renowned events such as Art Basel and editions of ARCO since 1984. His art has found a home in galleries spanning Switzerland, Spain, Austria, Poland, Great Britain, France, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, Cuba, Peru, the United States, India, Australia, South Korea, Russia, the Netherlands, and Cyprus. Notable recent individual exhibitions include those at Icam Geneva in 2023, Thomso 22 in Roorkee, India, in 2022, Galeria Pedro Esquerre in Matanzas, Cuba, in 2022, the Ludwig Foundation in 2022, Ateneo in Madrid in 2019, and Galerie Peter in Fine Art Zurich in 2016, among others.
