Catherine Harrington was trained as an artist and art historian at Goldsmiths College in London (BA, 2008) and Leeds University (MA, 2010). She is now a curator and visual/acoustic practitioner based in Tokyo, Japan. Her work has interrogated issues of performance, ritual and resistance through curatorial projects, live events and temporary installations. These have taken place in London and internationally, including at FA Projects and The Rag Factory in London and at the Cattle Depot Gallery in Kowloon, Hong Kong. She is currently researching curatorial and art practices in Japan informed by issues of trauma and spectatorship, and is a curatorial assistant within Yuko Hasegawa’s team of curators at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo as part of the Museum’s one year Curatorial Internship Programme (2014 – 2015).
