Light, depth and movement are all elements that create changing visual effects for the viewer. At first, my works might appear to be fixed, undifferentiated, flat, hard-edged or simplistic. However, a slight change in position can reveal flashes of reflected colour and alternative edges or textures. The power and effect of a painting can be transformed by a subtle shift in the light – due to a passing cloud or a change in the angle of the sun.
