Kim Power is a painter, writer, curator and teacher living in New York City. She has exhibited since 2002 in solo and group shows throughout the U.S., France and The Netherlands. A graduate of the New York Academy of Art (2014), Power has written for The Brooklyn Rail, ARTPULSE magazine, Art Aesthetics magazine and the blogs ArteFuse, The Blue Review, Surface Design Association Blog and Quantum Art Review. Power has curated and co-curated a number of successful exhibitions, including Natural Proclivities at the Shirley Fiterman Art Center (Borough of Manhattan Community College), Representing: Selected Works from Alumni and Faculty of the New York Academy of Art at Artisan Lofts in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City and On Being, an online exhibition for the Sculptors Alliance. Through her business, Power Art Projects, Kim offers coaching, education and professional writing for artists of all media as well as curatorial services. Kim has taught at New Jersey City University (Drawing I, Two Dimensional Design and the Masters Critique I-IV), is currently teaching at Felician University in Lodi, New Jersey (Basic Drawing and Composition and Painting I) and will have upcoming workshops in art marketing and art history through the Continuing Education department of the New York Academy of Art this November. Kim’s plein air paintings and drawings are available through Abend Gallery in Denver, Colorado and through the artist. In addition to her outdoor painting practice, Kim is beginning an exciting new body of work, À Table, inspired by her life in France and her love of food and landscape.
