Katie has had a love of all things arty as well as colour and pattern for about as long as she can remember. After a degree in Graphic Design in Nottingham, she moved to Cirencester to join Brann Direct Marketing, where she was one of the first art directors in the company (and probably the country) to use an Apple Mac. She worked with the company for over 20 years for clients including Cadbury, Save the Children, Tetley tea and Volvo. These days she divides her time between creating in her home studio in Cirencester and co-ordinating marketing for local pre-school and nursery supplier Early Years Direct. Katie took up woodcut printmaking a few years ago, initially as a way to use up spare plywood from samples of nursery furniture. With plenty of time during lockdown, she was able to develop and refine her technique. Katie’s prints take their inspiration from the natural world, produce and flowers from her garden and her retro ceramics collection. In 2021 she was one of three artists contributing to the Wings Wood Weave exhibition at the Corinium Museum.
