In their radical relevance, the surreal landscapes of So Young Park move between paradise and apocalypse, between contemplative solitude and the feeling of being watched.
About
It seems as if the painter wants to document either the moment before creation or that after the extinction of civilization, as if the viewers can observe both stages of humanity simultaneously from an all-encompassing vantage point.
The works reflect the cycle of matter in the universe, linking the coming into being and passing away and the relationship between nature, man and the supernatural. The oil paintings shown in the exhibition were created in South Korea over the past two years and will now be on view in Germany for the first time.
Curator Nicola E. Petek and Frontviews are delighted to present the paintings of South Korean artist So Young Park on the upper floor of the exhibition space HAUNT in Berlin-Tiergarten.
