Accompanying the current exhibition at KAI 10 | ARTHENA FOUNDATION Phantoms and Other Illusions, and in cooperation with the Kunsthochschule für Medien Cologne, two evenings will take place with the Chinese artist Echo Can Luo, currently living in Germany, and Ismaël Joffroy Chandoutis from Paris.
About
In the work of both artists, there is a visually forceful examination of a world increasingly shaped by digital tools and programmes. In particular, their illusions and illusory promises and their social effects will be critically debated.
These will first be brought into focus in a panel discussion on May 3 in the exhibition in KAI 10. Ursula Panhans-Bühler, art historian from Hamburg and author of the articles on both artists in the accompanying exhibition brochure, and Mischa Kuball, Professor of Media Art at the KHM, will also take part in the panel.
On May 4, both artists will give an insight into their work in an artist talk and screening in the KHM auditorium.
