About

In 2018, Cleo Mussi, Louise Pocock and Rhian Wyman became Associate Members of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen. Now in 2019, we are delighted to launch their work at our flagship gallery shop, the Guild at 51.

Cleo Mussi

Cleo is an established mosaic artist who works with reclaimed ceramic. The content of her work has depth and often explores complex ideas; most recently mass consumption of the world’s resources, evolution and migration in plant form. Cleo’s pieces can be read on many levels. Stories are told often with strange twists of humour and double visual/verbal meanings. The work can also be viewed as purely a celebration of decoration, colour, form, pattern and the inherent qualities that are embedded in our ceramic tradition.

Louise Pocock

Louise works from her Cotswold Hat Shop in the beautiful town of Chipping Campden and some of her inspiration is taken from this area, so steeped in Arts and Crafts history She is creatively inspired by the strength and relationship of colour, combinations of materials, textures and unique shapes of the wooden blocks she finds. Every part of her hats is handmade - blocking the felt shape through to hand producing each flower or feather trim.

Rhian Wyman

Rhian is a textile designer based in the Royal Forest of Dean, who graduated from Hereford College of Arts with a BA in Textile Design. All her products are designed, hand woven, darned, washed and tentered by Rhian, using traditional techniques throughout. Contemporary designs and colour placements are influenced by Rhian’s interpretation of surrounding environments that she finds inspiring. High-quality yarn is sourced in the UK, creating truly British luxury handmade products.
