LUVA Gallery transforms into a live studio for a special exhibition exploring artistic process. 'New Age Art Renaissance' hosts CSM Fine Art students Andie Aylsworth, Elaoise Benson, Paloma Grimm and Meg Wylie
About
With post-Covid and digital art fatigue, 'New Age Art Renaissance' aims to capture the return of the artist to the studio and celebrates the process of making physical art. This exhibition is the result of an open call to CSM BA Fine Art students.
The gallery space will be hosting the artistic processes of Andie Aylsworth, Elaoise Benson and collaborating duo, Meg Wylie and Paloma Grimm. All artists explore a form of connection in their practice and experiment with the relationships between their own agency and what is produced by the materials or by others. Primary concepts within the artists’ practices include embodied memory and choreography (Elaoise Benson), narrative and spiritual mysticism (Paloma Grimm), internal dialogues and colour (Meg Wylie), as well as human-kind’s relationship with the natural world (Andie Aylsworth). Material processes from the exhibiting artists range from fabric dying to painting and clay shaping.
