You are invited to help create Fred’s astonishing monsters in a unique event hosted by renowned Hastings-based children’s poet Mr Peek.
About
One sunny day, Fred the fisherman goes out to sea and lands himself a huge catch. His net is so full he can hardly heave it aboard the deck of his boat. And when he goes to shore, all his fisherman friends help him to pull the wriggling, writhing net onto The Stade. But what’s that he’s caught? Not fishes, no.
Sixteen huge and terrifying monsters from the deep….!
What do they look like, these monsters?
Do they have eyes, fins, flippers or tentacles?
Mr Peek’s first book of children’s poetry Bits and Bobs was published in February this year, created through his many workshops with children in schools throughout the South East. His silly, funny and nonsense style makes Mr Peek’s poems immediately accessible to young children and the book is a delightful romp through the world of anacondas, angry aunts, dormice, dinosaurs and nits. Mr Peek will sign any copies of his book purchased in the gallery bookshop at the end of the event.
