About

See more through less at the first exhibition on Minimalism in Southeast Asia, spanning two major venues. Experience the coming together of Asian and Western art in their most essential forms. Demonstrating a range of approaches and responses to Minimal Art, the exhibition brings together key works by pioneers such as Donald Judd, Yayoi Kusama and Frank Stella alongside a compelling range of works by leading contemporary artists including Ai Weiwei, Anish Kapoor and Olafur Eliasson. The exhibition includes experiential and immersive minimal art works by artists such as Martin Creed, Tatsuo Miyajima and James Turrell and provides audiences the opportunity to create new experiences and possibilities. The exhibition also investigates the diverse origins and trajectories of Minimalism, including the influence of Buddhism, the expression of social and political ideas, and the movement’s links to performance, music and film.
