International Painting Masterclass Residency - Galatea

We are organising summer Masterclass Residency already for 5 years. This Masterclass is suitable for beginners and advanced painters that would love to experience and learn new techniques, painting principles, methodology and so further their artistic endeavours.

We will focus on teaching a classical and masterful approach to painting a realistic figure painting with oil colours. We will discover a multi-layered technique with use of gold-brown underpainting and colourful overpainting that will bring colours and life to the figure.

Nik Anikis decided to become a painter when he was 5 years old. He is a classically trained painter with a Master’s degree in painting and two finished academies and 11 years of art schooling. He stands for High-quality work and clear and positive instructions.

He is inspired by technical perfection and subtle expression of the beauty of a human body, which with his poetry expresses great spectre of emotions and truths.

Learn from him a technique and principles that will bring your art to the next level. And help you on your path to Mastery.

Name of this Masterclass is Galatea, Love of Pygmalion because we will paint this figure. The story of Pygmalion and Galatea is the story of love, beauty and craftsmanship.  Pygmalion was a talented Greek sculptor and after becoming disgusted by some local prostitutes he lost all interest in women but ironically after that, he created a masterpiece of his life, a statue of a woman that was so beautiful that he fell in love with her. His love and passion were so strong that the goddess Aphrodite gave life to his statue, whose name was Galatea. Their love blossomed and they soon were wed and lived a very happy and blessed life.
