A strangely atonal selection of mixed media works creates an installation that considers the nature of the group, as well as the pervasive themes of pluralism in the new generation of artists. Each member of the show brings a unique practice and personality to the space, perhaps to create both harmony and dissonance.
“The particular, it seems, is now general and, perhaps, forever shall be.” - Terry Smith
How do you describe work you haven't made yet for a show that will only be curated once the work is made? How do you design a poster, write a press release, for an exhibition of eight artists without common ground or shared concepts? How do you share such a small space between so many people? Will the works be not only separate but also disparate? Will the show come together in the end? Will unintended connections form between the works to create an exhibition that hums with united intensity, or will everything simply discombobulate?
