A day of textile design workshops leading up to a large street party at the Cass, London Metropolitan University.
Join us for our large Street Party event on Wednesday 20 September 2017 as part of the Making Matters series, organised in conjunction with the London Design Festival.
Awash with Ideas is an event where we will explore dyeing linen with natural dyes using Shibori techniques.
This is a celebratory event, establishing The Cass Design School in our new building in Old Castle street showcasing our passion for making. Participants will be able to create their own Shibori patterns which will be exhibited and publicized at The Cass.
The day will be split into four 90 minute-long sessions.
Design work from this year's Summer Show will also be on display, which will be a great opportunity for visitors to see the work we do at The Cass.
Participants should wear clothing appropriate to art and design activities, and we will provide plastic aprons and hypoallergenic gloves.
If you are a teacher and would like to arrange a group booking for your school, please contact Suman Uddin at s.uddin@londonnmet.ac.uk. To participate register here : awash-with-ideas.eventbrite.co.uk
