The Cass at London Metropolitan University is a multi-disciplinary school of creative practice which has clear principles of socially engaged and impactful design. We believe that our work means most when it benefits people and society. We strive to ensure that our graduates leave committed to applying what they have learned with us to improving people’s lives and environment.
The whole School is committed to learning through making, in order that our designs are founded in a realistic understanding of materials, processes and impact – so we consider that our staff and students will ‘make’ everything, from books to buildings. We are especially committed to inter- and cross-disciplinary exploration, as this is often where innovation and unexpected opportunities lie.
With the creative economy of the UK now one of its principal engines of growth, Cass graduates are confident of long-term career opportunities as they discover and apply themselves to the numerous and ever-changing problems and opportunities that arise for artists, architects and designers as our world becomes more complex and unpredictable.
Exhibiting students, alumni and projects include: Scott Kelly, Diggory Rush, Max Randall, Nick Marschner, Moe Reddish, Freddie Keen, James Whittam, Peter Stovin, Lara Chamandi, Jo Baker, Iraide Gerai, Callum Partridge, Yasmin Afif, Maria Gower, Susana Gogarty, Carluccio’s Project, Ella Merriman, Miranda Tongeman, Barnaby Lewis and Rachel Huxley.
