This series of photomontages delves into the world of multicultural upbringing and personal identity, reflecting the artist's experience of growing up in 1970s and 80s London, and navigating the duality of his Chinese heritage and Western society.
About
Through transforming photographs of himself as a child, the artist aims to convey the tension and strangeness that accompany the process of maturation, influenced by external adult narratives. These montages symbolise an attempt to reclaim a time when these narratives played a pivotal role in shaping his sense of self.
These works will hopefully speak to a wide audience, inviting them to reflect on their own path of identity formation amidst diverse influences.
