QUEK JIA QI is an interdisciplinary artist and public practitioner. Working at the intersections of art, education and activism, her relational practice investigates how new forms of learning and sociality could emerge in the everyday and activate a civic dialogue. Through experimental forms of storytelling, she explores how the autobiographical can reveal socially critical material, strengthen relational connections and honour our shared lived experiences. Based in London and Singapore, Jia Qi has led communities to create social interventions, participatory installations, public programmes, and collective performances across London, Amsterdam, New York, Berlin, Singapore and South Korea. Some venues include Institute of Contemporary Arts Singapore, CICA Museum, Raven Row, Framer Framed, extending to public spaces, toilets, kitchens, libraries and the streets. She was the recipient of the Social Art Award 2017, by The Institute for Art and Innovation e.V. for her social interventionist art and pursues Fine Art & History of Art at Goldsmiths, University of London. She is currently an Artist-in-Residence at Asia-Art-Activism, Raven Row.
