UmMuseum was originally sculptor Taejeong Um’s studio. It was built Thirty years ago by architect late Seongkuk Kim in Bongdam, Hwaseong. The facility was remodeled as a small space of cultural activity and we opened a museum here with the permission of Gyeonggi province.

In the vicinity of the museum are located historical royal tombs Yungneung and Geolleung. These sites were registered as Unesco's World Heritages and the region is known for beautiful landscape to tourists.

Um Museum has served as the sculptor's studio for a long time, thus it is imbued with his artistic life. Now the place is turning into a museum open to the public.
First, this museum aims to serve the artistic and cultural needs of people living in the region.

Secondly, the museum will contribute to the artistic and cultural environment and provide a space of communication and experience of arts for people in the region.
