Situated on a narrow street between upscale Gaien-nishi Dori street and a historical slope that dates back to medieval Tokyo, MAHO KUBOTA GALLERY opened in March 2016, specializing in contemporary art. The gallery spaceis located in Jingumae, an area of cultural crossover where Harujuku and Aoyama overlap. The location ensures easy access from anywhere in Central Tokyo.

Within an area where fashion and design furniture shops mix with architectural firms, design offices, and recording studios, the gallery is more than a space that presents art exhibitions. It aims to be open and accessible to all those who appreciate the arts and culture as part of their daily lives. Visual art does not stand alone—its chemistry is inter-linked with society and with other artistic expressions or historical context. It metamorphoses its configuration or merges with other forms of expression, vividly revealing the reality of life as lived by people today. With this in mind, the gallery attempts to present and introduce works by Japanese and international artists that evoke inspiration in our everyday lives.
