Looking Forward to ‘Yesterday’.
The talents of undergraduate Fine Art students at the University of Northampton will be showcased in an exhibition commencing in the third week in March. The University’s Fine Art students are recognised nationally for producing outstanding work with an actively focused spirit through research, practice and a thorough understanding of the most cultural experiences and ideas of our time.
This year’s Spring Show, funded by students participating in the exhibition ‘yesterday’, dives into the web of nostalgia and is expressed through the many strings of dialogue that underpin each student’s practice.
The Spring Show provides the pooled memories that reflect an aspect of their ‘yesterday’. This group of exceptional students express points of their past in a determined yet creative and controlled manner.
Curated by the second year students, the Spring Show offers the motivated collaboration of strong individual voices in a multi-media environment.
"We wished to create an experience that would stimulate many of the senses that are linked with nostalgia. The 'yesterday' Spring Show wants to add to the memory bank so the audience would leave with at least a small part of our 'yesterday' they won't forget."
