In Alex Heard’s workshop we will be taking on a playful approach to drawing working with plasticine.
About
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
We will be modeling with coloured plasticine as a means to build scenes and encounters. Then we will draw from our models in coloured pencil to translate between sculpture and 2D.
Alex Heard uses drawing as a conduit and starting point for ideas to later develop and flow into ceramics, monoprints or other drawings. The potential to pull fantasies from moments of the everyday is important to Alex.
He is studying fine art at Goldsmiths and helps out at Parade Mews Pottery in Tulse Hill. He is co-curating this series of workshops.
Format: Our summer series of workshops will focus on extending drawing through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques, with the aim to share skills. Workshop leaders will give a brief introduction to their practice, followed by a short demonstration of their approach with materials. See how emerging creatives are using drawing in their practices, and have a go yourself, to learn the rudiments of new techniques.
