Drawing and collage will feed into a hands-on approach to making in this screen printing workshop led by Verity Monroe & May Darbyshire.
About
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Verity Monroe and May Darbyshire will lead us through material exploration, using collage, varied textiles and layering images. We will screen print onto a large piece of fabric that will be a space for experimentation and collaboration, and will be divided up at the end of the workshop.
We will be printing on t-shirts too!
Verity and May have collaborated on a number of projects from large-scale painting commissions to community based radio and shadow puppetry performances. They will both be graduating this year from Goldsmiths with degrees in fine art.
Format: Our summer series of workshops will focus on extending drawing through low-tech, low cost, DIY techniques, with the aim to share skills. Workshop leaders will give a brief introduction to their practice, followed by a short demonstration of their approach with materials. See how emerging creatives are using drawing in their practices, and have a go yourself, to learn the rudiments of new techniques.
