About

Join the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and 'People's Art Critic' Tabish Khan for an evening taking a wry look at what works and what doesn’t work in the art world, inspired by Tabish's FAD Magazine column "What's Wrong with Art". The evening will see a panel including Tabish will be joined by other industry experts Artist Coach Martha May Ronson and Irish Artist Stephen Doyle discuss what’s wrong but also what we can learn and improve on in the visual arts. Expect a fun evening delivering career development tips to kick-start your new year!

Tabish Khan is an art critic and trustee of ArtCan specialising in London's art scene. He has been the visual arts editor for The Londonist since 2013 and is a regular contributor for FAD.

Martha May Ronson is a London-based Artist Coach and online course creator helping visual artists reach their potential.

Stephen Doyle is a graduate from C.I.T Crawford College of Art and Design and hails from Cork, Ireland. His work discusses queer identity/culture through figurative painting and installation pieces in an attempt to establish an LGBTQ+ narrative within the visual arts.

Stephen was the overall winner of the Ashurst Emerging Art Prize in 2018, and since has received both national and international accolades. He is credited with the first work to openly discuss queer/transgender identity on the walls of the National Gallery of Ireland and was selected as one of the 'Top 50 People to Watch' by the Irish Times.
