Join artist Brie Moreno for an experimental workshop to create a comic book using alternative methods and materials.
About
In this workshop, participants will be given a bag filled with an assortment of small trinkets and knick-knacks and use them as stencils to craft unconventional shapes for characters and backgrounds. These shapes will be the building blocks for a dynamic and instinctive comic, completely unrestricted by any rules or boundaries. Brie urges us to focus on rapid, heartfelt drawing, exploring various lineworks and their limitations to let form naturally dictate both the style and storyline. Participants will receive an array of materials to work with encouraging them to investigate alternative methods for creating comics that move beyond the traditional methods.
