This workshop will take place over three days and will enable you to learn a variety of skills for working with metals, whether you are thinking of a sculpture or of a design idea.
About
Included in the course are procedures and techniques in arc welding & mig welding. As well as grinding, rolling, bending, cutting and good workshop practice.
The tutor, Silvina Soria obtained her degree as Sculpture Professor at The Fine Arts School Prilidiano Pueyrredon in 2002. After specializing in welding and blacksmithing she obtained a master in Contemporary Sculpture at Ernesto de la Carcova Postgraduated School, both in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has more than ten years experience in arts education. In 2009 she moved to London where she continues her own practice as sculptor and leading workshops.
The small group will allow you to have full dedication from Silvina. No sculpture experience is required.
Advanced students will continue personal projects and research new techniques and processes.
Please bring a sketchbook.
The Course fee provides an allowance of ten pounds for materials this covers most consumable costs.
Grinding and safe workshop practice will be covered.
It is essential to wear old clothes and strong footwear.
