ABOUT THE SHOW >
'We Love 77' is a monumental art exhibition celebrating punk rock and features 77 bands painted by artist duo Sardine & Tobleroni, who describe their practice as âConceptual Art Brut'. The 77 paintings include The Clash, X-ray Spex, Sex Pistols, Ramones, Buzzocks, The Raincoats, MC5, The Stooges, Patti Smith, New York Dolls, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Sham 69, The Adverts, The Damned, Joy Division and Black Flag, to name a few.
The launch party featured appearances from British punk icon Poly Styrene of X-ray Spex and a set from Don Letts; the TimeOut FT event featured Q&A with Zillah Minx, a screening of her film 'She's a Punk Rocker UK' and Nettie Baker reading from her new book (âIt Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time, memoirs of a Rock Star's Daughter 1974 - 1987'); film screenings also included: The HIstory of the Clash, Don Letts' PUNK:attitude and X-ray Spex Live at the Roundhouse 2008.
