Eden Fine Art Gallery will host Fred Allard’s first New York exhibition, offering all 25,000 square feet of the Soho venue for the showcase of Vide Ton Sac (Empty Your Bag) - an homage to the iconic pieces of Chanel and the late artistic director Karl Lagerfeld.

About

Eden Fine Art Gallery will showcase Fred Allard's latest collection featuring iconic pieces and limited-series models inspired by Karl's creations. The famous fashion icon’s vision and boldness inspired Fred Allard’s artistic approach from the outset: including his many collaborations throughout his career between Chanel and popular brands, such as Coca-Cola or H&M, made him a pioneer of this intermixing of styles. Fred Allard's collection questions this mix of styles where luxury and mass consumption meet, intersect and come together. At this unique exhibition, the famous and timeless luxury French fashion house will itself be subverted, sublimated and crystallized in Fred Allard’s works.

Fred finds inspiration from different trends and cultures, anything from pop art to street art, music, magazines, and most importantly the street and everyday life. The combination of these interests inspire his creativity, allowing him to shape his unique style. His work is the picture of the moment, a vibrant mix of iconic products that have learned to live together and are now crystallized in inclusions of resin.

The Vide Ton Sac series is a natural extension of Fred Allard’s work in which the artist engages with a celebrity who is willing to reveal their personal objects. Emptying your bag, revealing its essence and abandoning its contents, brings trust and confidence. A handbag is much more than just an external expression or a fashion accessory, it is also a personal item, a confidential and intimate object.

The message behind Fred Allard’s work is simple - almost always including a luxury bag as the subject, helping him to depict ideas of consumption and accumulation as a comment on society. In a world where shopping has become a status symbol, his sculptures automatically become an object of attraction as well as a timeless piece of art.
