About
DARK YELLOW DOT Presents "VARISCAN"
Dark Yellow Dot supports artists at the beginning of their career by providing real world opportunities.
We're excited to be presenting "VARISCAN" a series of ink and charcoal drawings packed with texture and movement where geology meets art as we introduce Emma Theresa Jude in her first ever exhibition.
Emma is a full-time working geologist. She has been drawing alongside her professional practice her whole career, focusing on the unique ‘way of seeing’ that a scientific mode of looking at the landscape provides. Come through the Genesis Cinema Gallery from August 30 - October 2 to check her amazing work.
"The Variscan project is borne out of my fieldwork in Devon, in the Tor Bay area. It traces the ghostly evidence of a 290 million year old mountain range, driven by the collision of whole continents, that once spanned western Europe. In the UK, it is now visible in the cliffs and coastlines - but only if you know where, and how, to look." says Emma
