The exhibition includes sixty three new works by contemporary artist Val Archer, inspired by her time in Italy and London. Her fascination with detail and texture captures the beauty and delicacy of everyday objects.

“In the quiet studio I notice the complexity of each object, and I want to present these simply, without artifice, so that it is their qualities that speak most clearly from the paintings. In London I carry on working with continued fascination for the Roman mosaics, crumbling walls and old wooden boards which all speak their own histories and have serves as inspiration in the past. Now the damaged, fragmented tiled floor from a favourite chapel I drew when I was in Spello, Umbria, is a new excitement”
