’Unity Muse’ presents new work by artists based in and around Letchworth Garden City.
About
The participating artists are:
Callum Abbott, Kasia Burke, Liz Harrington, Louise Lahive, Adrian Marden, Rhiannon Moxham, Sean Pearce, Max Plathan, Katherine Roberts, Venice Shone, Chantelle Stephenson, John Vincent and Sian Wilson.
The artists initially met through Meet | Critique, a monthly event organised by the Broadway Gallery. Meet | Critique invites artists to discuss their work and share advice on how they can develop both creatively and professionally. The exhibition takes the term ‘local artist’ as a starting point and poses the question: can all artists be described as ‘local artists’?
The title of the exhibition is a play on the name of the exhibition venue: Community Museum is edited to form the shortened Unity Muse. Although united by geographical location, the exhibition demonstrates the extensive range of work being made by artists in the area. The exhibition includes work made in a variety of techniques including; painting, sculpture, photography, film, illustration, sound and installation.
Join us for a breakfast opening of the exhibition on Saturday 6th October from 10am – 12pm to meet some of the participating artists.
All donations and 10% of sales will be donated to Herts Young Homeless.
Unity Muse is curated by Laura Dennis, co-ordinated by Rhiannon Moxham and Katherine Roberts and is supported by the Broadway Gallery.
