An exhibition of contemporary art textiles, mixed media and sculpture showcasing the distinctive artistic styles of the ten artists from Phoenix. The artists delve into the multifaceted interpretations of balance, both physical and metaphysical, through their captivating textile-based artworks.
About
This unique exhibition promises a diverse and exhilarating experience, featuring a wide array of mediums, techniques, and materials. The artwork on display seamlessly weaves together a tapestry of interconnected themes, ranging from the marvels of the internal combustion engine to the restoration of historical buildings, and from the grace of ballerinas to the intricate balancing of financial accounts.
In addition to traditional fabric and thread, visitors can expect to encounter a fascinating array of objects incorporated into the artworks, including vintage and modern scales, as well as unconventional materials such as vintage laths, old books, and rusty nails. These skillful amalgamations result in contemporary artworks that push the boundaries of textile art.
Previous visitors to the PHOENIX exhibition held at the Robert Phillips Gallery in 2021 expressed their awe, leaving glowing feedback like "A wonderful display of imagination and creative brilliance, resulting in a thought-provoking and moving exhibition."
(Un)Balanced will run at the Robert Phillips Gallery, Riverhouse, Manor Road, Walton on Thames, KT12 2PF, open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, offering free entry to all art enthusiasts.
