A rare opportunity to hear Worcester-born, and internationally renowned artist, John Stezaker, discuss the ideas that inspired him to curate his first ever display, Turning to See: From Van Dyck to Lucian Freud at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery.

About

John will discuss his influences and inspiration, drawing on research carried out during the project and the theme of physical and metaphorical turning explored in the display. He will also provide a context to his ideas through discussion of his own artistic practice of collage.

The talk takes place in the stunning surroundings of Aston Hall, a grand Jacobean house typical of the fashionable homes Van Dyck visited to paint his portraits in the 17th century.
