'TRUE COLOURS' - Great Barr School volunteer project in Sierra Leone

About

'True Colours' shares the story of a journey through the world's poorest country. These powerful images were captured as part of the Great Barr Schools volunteer work in Sierra Leone. The project first began in early 2007 with the Great Barr School collecting, boxing and shipping a full container of textbooks for the Peninsula School in Waterloo, creating the only school library in Sierra Leone. 'Great Barr School decided that this was not enough and that we wanted to create opportunities and a lasting partnership, allowing us to nurture the untapped potential so evident in the country. The plan to deliver 150 computers to the country was hatched in Autumn 2008. Now we have the small issue of how to get the computers from Great Barr to Sierra Leone! 'That's easy, we'll just get two 4x4 vehicles and we'll drive them Ewan Gregor style!' 'To realise our dreams of connecting children's lives in Sierra Leone with those of children in the UK, we present our story - 'True Colours'.
