About
“Tres ejercicios de tiro” revolves around the Spanish Civil War and its territories of resistance. Isasi explores different areas in the north of Spain, gathering shrapnel that is later transformed into different objects and finally re-activated by music. As Cristina Ojea points out, "(tracking shrapnel) in former areas of conflict has become an intermittent practice in Isasi's work; a dormant practice which, when activated requires a sostained and intense effort, a repeated experience that has established a methodology of its own and brings profound results". These objects of memory, conflict and resistance, were activated during the opening of the show by the Cantabrian rock group Ídolos del Extrarradio.
The territory itself is also present in the boxes containing intervened maps revealing different layers of information. Here, Isasi uses serial reproduction techniques such as silk screen or 3D print in order to create unique copies. The mountain is an altered cast in each sculpture.
