AboutPhotographs by Luis Bustamante with Seb Bustamante-Brauning.
This exhibition showcases the work of a father and son, and their long-term project investigating the political and economic change that has shaped South America's recent history.
Luis Bustamante's photos are an antidote to post-modern chic. They emulate many artistic styles from ancient religous icons and portaits from the middle ages to modernism and the photographic traditions of studio and location portraiture. Luis' photographs document ordinary people's responses to a society driven by the markets, while Seb's portraits look at the lasting effect of political repression on individual lives.
