Fourteen artists explore what 'traces' means to them; from a surviving mark to triggering memories and a more autobiographical, visual trace. It is the variety of how the term 'traces' can be so diversely interpreted by these artists that will intrigue. http://traces2017.blogspot.co.uk

- - - As part of the Middlesex University MA Fine Art and Printmaking Interim exhibition 'TRACES', renowned artists Sonia Boyce and Tansy Spinks will be giving artists talks alongside a collaborative oral and aural performative piece on Monday 3rd April, 6 - 8 p.m. at The Council Chambers in Grade II* listed Hornsey Town Hall Arts Centre, Crouch End.  https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ma-middlesex-university-ma-artist-talks-with-sonia-boyce-tansy-spinks-tickets-33291964161

The collaborative performance will encourage all attending to make a contribution to it, by vocalising either a word, saying or sentence about something they feel strongly about politically/Politically or perhaps personally - but also, crucially,  using their own first language. This collaboration between artists and audience will then be manipulated, audio looped and played within the unique acoustics of the old Council Chambers, creating a unity of experience and expression for those attending.
