About
M25 to UtopiaVernissage /// Friday 25 January 19-01h
Open /// Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th /// 17-20h
The M25 motorway has been described as a car park. By day a monument to shopping intentions, toilet repairs and visits to in-laws. Between 1989 and 1992 and for proceeding years, the weekend nights gave it and many other arterial highways a reinvigorated purpose. Everyday people burdened by domestic constraints and loomed over by authoritarian hierarchies, took to nocturnal roads to forget their realities and seek freedom. Escape velocity on the London Orbital. Fields, hangars, warehouses, and clubs filled with fantasy.
Tim Eve was born in London and lives in Berlin. The exhibition contains a series of 9 handmade woodcut relief prints.
