The Lido Stores is pleased to present a group exhibition full of poignant, erotic and sometimes amusing meditations on the themes of love, lust, heartbreak and betrayal.
About
My dear, my dear, I know
More than another
What makes your heart beat so;
Not even your own mother
Can know it as I know,
Who broke my heart for her
When the wild thought,
That she denies
And has forgot,
Set all her blood astir
And glittered in her eyes.
· W.B. Yeats, ‘To A Young Girl’

Gallery owner Kristen Healy, herself an artist, has curated the exhibition following submissions from dozens of artists across the United Kingdom and Ireland. “We’ve kept The Wild Thought free to enter, with a short time to apply to keep the exhibition fun and exciting”, said Healy. “The quality of entries has been fantastic. Our exhibiting artists have submitted some poignant, erotic and sometimes amusing mediations on the themes of love, lust, heartbreak and betrayal.”
A private view drinks reception will be held on Saturday, 4 February from 7pm to 9pm. During which, guests will have the opportunity to take in the broad selection of artworks and meet many of the participating artists.
About The Lido Stores
The Lido Stores gallery on Ethelbert Terrace has been delivering a programme of contemporary art exhibitions from emerging and established artists, since opening in 2021.
Gallery owner Kristen Healy, whose father ran a convenience store from the same shop since the early 90s, has established The Lido Stores as a local gallery that showcases some of the best emerging art from the south coast and London. The private views have become a place to connect with artists and those passionate about the arts which are thriving in, and bringing new life, to the local area.
