A major survey of painting, sculpture, film and archives, bringing together works by more than 25 artists associated with the Black Arts Movement.
During 1980s Britain, a significant movement of Black artists, film makers, thinkers and institutions explored their relationship with Britain’s colonial past. Examining the politics of the time they explored different forms of resistance, expression and identity, in works that are highly resonant today.
The exhibition is a partnership with the Van Abbemuseum in Eindhoven.
