About
Annelie and Joanne are interested in the qualities of ‘friendship’ as an ethos for creating open and non-hierarchical atmospheres for the exhibitions they make together.
‘The Ollie & Lesa Show’ honestly addresses the role of lover / life partner as unofficial patron of the arts. With love and humour the show celebrates two people in particular, and romantic relationships in general, as the alternative, unspoken support network in the visual arts; the partners who remind you that you are special / not special, who will pick up a bill when money is tight, and who make unwitting muses or foils to creativity.
Throughout history, the lovers of artists stare silently and recline patiently in their artworks, held into position for eternity. Continuing their interest in hierarchies and friendship, ‘The Ollie & Lesa Show’ is the Diva turning the applause back to the band, bringing partners to the centre of the stage and inviting them to take a bow.
You are warmly invited to a collective moment of art production contingent upon these interconnected relationships. Through improvisation, and within the structure and humour of their creative friendship, Joanne and Annelie will bring you love tokens, tribute acts and heartfelt thank-yous.
