The Fight to Free Leonard Peltier - Honoring Indigenous Culture & Heritage is an exhibition that highlights Indigenous artists whose work is at the intersection of Indigenous identity and social justice. Showcasing Indigenous art is a method of cultural survival. This space will honor Indigenous resistance as healing through various mediums and feature Indigenous artists from all ages.
This exhibition honors Leonard Peltier’s legacy, speaking to the truth of his wrongful conviction, and most importantly serves as a tool for people to take action. This exhibition is dedicated to Mr. Leonard Peltier and to every single child that was murdered in the genocidal initiatives known as the Residential Boarding Schools. Using art made by Indigenous folks - this space is a reclamation of all of the Indigenous lives that we’ve lost globally at the expense of rampant colonization. The space is dedicated to all of the Indigenous children that had their futures stolen from them.
