About

Catrine Val’s insightful new portraits of women focus on the role that clothing plays in female identity and on how working environments can limit women’s ability to express their personality, cultural heritage or faith through what they wear. In this evolving exhibition, Val creates a series of double portraits of women in both their workwear and in the clothes that they feel more accurately express their identity.  All participants live or work in Luton, one of three “plural” towns outside London where no single ethnic group has the majority. Part of Luton Culture’s As You Change, So Do Iseries.

Closing view Friday 8 March (International Women’s Day) 6.30-8.30pm
