This summer Heart N Soul, one of the world's most unique arts organisation, presents The Big 30 Summer Takeover in Deptford on the occasion of their 30th birthday. Heart n Soul are the award-winning creative arts charity for people with learning disabilities.
To mark 30 years, Heart n Soul are building the first ever archive to document the cultural lives of people with learning disabilities, The Big 30 Archive, which is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and will be made available to the public through the London Metropolitan Archives and Heart n Soul’s Big 30 website this summer.
The Big 30 Summer Takeover will present an art installation of portraits by award-winning photographer Franklyn Rodgers and audio interviews with 30 Heart n Soul artists, staff, volunteers and participants alongside a public programme of events, performances, live music and activities at venues including The Albany, Deptford Lounge, Buster Mantis, Southbank Centre and more, as well as live broadcasts on www.thebig30.com and Heart n Soul Radio, 5 July – 20 August 2017.
