About
Eston Arts Centre is pleased to be showing Beach Objects and The Nature Library by Christina Riley.
Beach Objects presents natural and manmade objects collected on the west coast of Scotland as part of my 2020 project The Beach Today, arising from daily walks in early lockdown and a longstanding fondness for beachcombing. Distilling the sea onto a single image, The Beach Today is an attempt to share what the beach looked like every day from March 21 to July 3 2020.
The objects on display are each one fragment of the sea's ancient and endless story.
The Nature Library is a reference library and reading space connecting people to land, sky and sea, making awe and wonder for the world a part of the everyday and is showing for the first time in England.
Supported with funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England
