Bath Society of Botanical Painters has taken up the daunting challenge of capturing their strong forms and delicate beauty in their exhibition The Amazing World of Trees which will be on display from October 5th to 23rd at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institute, Queen Square, Bath BA1 2HN
About
Even the best cameras still struggle to capture the full depth of field and high contrasts of sunlight and shade but a botanical artist is free to do just that. Botanical painting is, by its very nature, about detail, with artists trained to make intense observation of the subject and portray a composition that is both scientifically accurate and pleasing.
All the artists live and work near Bath and meet every week to paint together. Members of the group have won both National and International awards for their work.
