In August, Be Smart About Art is taking every opportunity to celebrate summer. Seizing this fiesta-feeling we will visit graduate artists from Made in Arts London (MiAL) as they exhibit and sell their wares on market stalls at Canopy Market.
About
This specific market sees alumni MiAL artists paired as mentors with a new cohort of artists. We will speak with Katie Hughes to find out more about MiAL’s work and the thinking behind this project. We will then embark on a walking tour of the market to meet the artists, view their work and market stalls.
Made in Arts London is a student-based creative enterprise, exclusively for University of the Arts London (UAL) students, supported by Arts Students’ Union. It supports students to learn how to promote and sell their work and sustain their professional creative practice through an online shop, programme of events, exhibitions and partnerships. Based within Europe’s largest arts education institution, MiAL is an essential resource and platform giving access to the emerging talent of the globally respected UAL student body. Many students MiAL represents create design products perfect for the market audience. 24 – 26 August brings current and alumni MiAL artists together as they take over market stalls to sell their work.
