About

Join us at Open Eye Gallery for an evening with photographic artist Lydia Goldblatt. Lydia will talk about her life and work including the critically acclaimed project Still Here. This event coincides with Open Eye's exhibition Flat Death.

"Marked with tenderness, her work offers a concentrated meditation on mortality, time, love and loss, in which corporeal scrutiny courts metaphysical wonder. The images are often limited to a single detail: a timepiece abandoned on a shelf, a closed eyelid, the sunlit form of a bee." – The Independent

"Lydia’s camera does not move fast or snap journalistically: rather, it seems intensely slow and meditative, like a painter’s eye ... these are scenes that Rembrandt might have rendered, and they express something beyond words or reason." – The Telegraph
