About

Kinetica's next major exhibition will focus on artworks that explore, warp, collect and manipulate sound. Collaborating with the Cybersonica Festival, this 6 week show will present the work of more than 15 prominent and pioneering U.K and European artists and feature 4 new commisssions funded by Arts Council England. Soundwaves artists/works include: An orchestra of household objects by Pierre Bastien; interactive sound and shadow circuit bending sculptures by Peter Vogel; kinetic electro-accoustic sculptures by Max Eastley; Rob Mullender's photophonic sound synthesizer; Martin Riches robotic and kinetic sound machines; a phonetic voice theremin by Michael Markett; receiver and transmitting dialogue devices by Julie Freeman; an interactive percussive installation by Andy Huntingdon; and new work by soundtoys.net artist Arcangel Constantini Plus many more... Alongside the exhibition will be a programme of presentations and talks that delve further into the exploration of sound and aural experiences, including: Jake Ewen's presentation 'Cymatic planet' in which he explores sacred geometry through sound and matter. A presentation by Alex Zivanovic of the work of pioneering artist/engineer Edward Ihnatowicz - creator of the Senster and S.A.M - the first Sound Automated Machine, first shown at Cybernetic Serendipity 1969 ICA. A presentation of audio modification by Brian Duffy and DJ Tendraw & The Gypsies Dog A presentation by Rolf Gehlhaar - inventor of Sound: Space We will also be holding special events and one-off performances during the course of the exhibition with guests such as Martyn Ware (Heaven 17 / Future of Sound) and featured artists including Ray Lee, Rob Mullender, Lee Patterson, Pierre Bastien and many more...
