About
Sophie Benini's exhibition, curated by Camilla Boemio, presents several new bodies of work, including a group of paintings on the four-leaf clover theme ("Quaderni di Quadrifogli" and "Dawn and dew in the shamrock forest"); an embroidery (Nest of inspiration), in which embroidered fabrics, paper mâché, beads, objects, and small recovered fragments coexist; the Rays of the Sun, with applications on canvas under glass, and The Angel on the Party, a work on paper.
Benini uses different means, materials, and conceptual approaches to explore an epistemological constellation of interconnected themes in which she moves masterfully calibrates memories and personal universal sensations.
His exhibitions are places where emotions and intellect are synthesized in highly visual works, often tactile, which stand out for their rich colors, the use of textiles, embroidery, the fruitful objects that compose them, and the formal immediacy. The projects born from historical research, and from collective pedagogies, are placed side by side with those in which the presence of the artist's hand is the most relevant element.
