Solo exhibition of Zhuang Hong Yi

About

Zhuang Hong Yi was born in the Sichuan province - China in 1962 he graduated from the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute and later from the Minerva Academy of Visual Art and design in Gronigen. Yi currently lives and works in the Netherlands but his connection with his roots remains strong in his art. The artworks on display represent all the major elements found in his recent work, the flower and plant theme is influenced by his life in the Netherlands, the choice of medium, rice paper, reflects his oriental roots, he colours the paper with acrylic paints. Each work slowly and delicately comes to life like a materialisation of Ying and Yang and evolves into an original and wonderfully colourful master piece. Yi describes himself as an "urbanite" and his art represents his optimism for urban life .His artworks demonstrate that renewal and tradition can come together and live hand in hand. Zhuang is collected by buyers worldwide, he has been selected to participate in several International Biennale exhibitions several times and his paintings can be seen in prestigious galleries worldwide.
